Hair, baby yeah!!
So, you may have noticed from my previous post that I have recently changed my hair colour. I am no stranger to hair dye – I am a natural blonde who went mousey and in my years I have been blue, purple, black, chocolate and peroxide. I am now a lovely auburny-ginger a la Florence or Paloma Faith. I love it, and it wierdly works with my complexion despite the natural blondness.
Basically, the reason that I am sharing this is that I have noticed that my new shade is the shade-du-jour – Ashlee Simpson, a Geldof and my two favourite redheads (Florence and Paloma) are all this colour. Not to mention longer term converts such as Amy Adams. I am a lifelong home dyer and this post is to say – don’t be afraid of the red hair! It is good! Also, don’t be bullied by hairdressers who scorn home dye – I have managed highlights and as you’ll have read before I am cack handed.
So, if your thinking of a change – go for it! And remember to buy your original colour while your at it – then its no disaster if it goes wrong! xxx

P.S. Now Jessica Alba has my hair too!!
Personally I have found that Boots Botanics ‘Warmed Terracotta Auburn’ and John Frieda’s ‘Radiant Red’ helps get the Paloma Faith/Florence and the Machine hair colour.

what hair dye did you use???
Umm, a variety. I think that the best was one of those Loreal 10 minute numbers which was called ‘Warm Auburn’ – it was red without being too glowing!
